Droidy is a contestant competing in The Captain's Contest - An Object Show Webcomic. He is a small, flying robot.

Appearance[]

Droidy is an off-white spherical robot with symphony blue highlights on his base and top section. He has two grey pads on the bottom of his base that emit a blue trail that can allow him to float, and has two retractable wings that can move freely and slot inside his body. On the front of his body is a black screen in the shape of a trapezoid, which features two green dots that resemble eyes.

His speech bubbles are unique from the other characters, as they are polygonal and angular, and frequently feature emoticons akin to text, despite the handwritten style of writing.

Personality[]

Droidy is shown to be quite upbeat, but also emotional. He is described as being quite hyper and energetic. He also has supposedly many functions to assist him, but none of them work. He seems to backfire whenever he attempts to use a function that is not working, such as when he tries to use echolocation in Pregame. Droidy is also short-tempered, and doesn't like being treated like an object or called "it".

Official Description[]

"Formerly a surveillance drone, Droidy is always hyper and happy. He tries to be helpful to other contestants, but he won't take disrespect.

"Equipped with tons of futuristic functions, Droidy is full of utility! The problem is, none of his functions work. This proves to make him disadvantaged in comparison to the other competitors.

"Despite his technical difficulties, Droidy stribes [sic] to be as useful as possible, and loves heavy EDM!"

Coverage[]

Pregame[]

Droidy first appears in Pregame 05 and 06 when Shuriken hears a whirring noise while moving through the trees, likening it to an aircraft. This turns out to be Droidy. Shuriken emerges through the trees and invites him to a race before immediately retreating. Confused, Droidy tries to locate this voice through echolocation, but this function backfires on him.

Droidy doesn't appear again until Pregame 13 when he arrives at the meeting place, shocking many people such as Dynamite, Charcoal and Blueberry. Shuriken recalls the whirring noise of his levitation and asks if he was the aircraft from earlier. Droidy replies by saying he doesn't remember this due to a faulty memory bank.

Droidy was initially placed on Team Port. When the teams were assigned, Droidy enthusiastically flew inside of the Team Port boat, only to find that there were no controls. He, along with the other Team Port members, screamed when the boat suddenly thrusted forward.

Day One[]

In the beginning, Droidy tries to introduce himself to his teammates, but is interrupted by Dynamite who refuses to listen to him. Angrily, Droidy tries to object to her.
